    Sculptural version of the Figure, 'Head of the Genius of the Colony', this figure was found in 1910, near the Municipal Forum in the vicinity of the Temple of Diana in Mérida. In terms of chronology, the most widespread opinion is that it is a work from the middle of the 2nd century d. c. (Adriano-Antonino), although recently it has been proposed that is from the middle of the 1st century AD c. (Julio-Claudian era). It is currently in the National Museum of Roman Art. Protective genius of the colony Emerita Augusta, founded the year 25 BC by Publio Carisio as a settlement for the legions V Alaudae and X Gémina veterans. Divinity foster city, classical taste. It represents a person in full youth, whose physiognomic traits are of great beauty filled with sweetness. This figure has short untidy curly hair under a  mantle. Part of the nose is broken. The thick-lipped mouth thick  is open slightly.
    The material used in the sculpture is bronze.
